Pre-delay is the time gap between the original dry sound and the onset of the reverb. It's measured in milliseconds (ms) and typically ranges from 0ms to 200ms or more.
Purpose
Pre-delay serves several important functions:
- Maintains clarity by separating the dry sound from the reverb
- Simulates the time sound takes to travel to walls and back
- Helps position sounds in perceived depth
