## Deactivating Your License
Deactivating frees your license to be used on another computer or activation type.
### Steps to Deactivate
1. **Open iLok License Manager** on the computer where the license is active
2. **Find your Relab license** in the list
3. **Right-click** on the license
4. **Select "Deactivate"**
5. **Confirm** the deactivation
The license will return to your iLok account, ready to be activated elsewhere.
### When to Deactivate
- Moving to a new computer
- Reformatting your system
- Switching from Machine to Cloud activation
- Selling your license
### Can't Access the Old Computer?
If your computer was lost, stolen, or won't boot:
1. Contact iLok support to request a license recovery
2. iLok may require proof of ownership
3. Recovery fees may apply
### Important Notes
- You cannot deactivate a Cloud license - simply stop using it and it becomes available
- Deactivating removes the license from that computer immediately
- Always deactivate before major system changes
